Piping (Pressure Valve)

Directional overflow valve.

A directional overflow: it watches the network on its input face, marked by the copper-trimmed ring, and once that side tops the gate pressure it spills everything above it into the output side. Right-click with an empty hand to raise the gate in 0.25 atm steps, sneak and right-click to lower it, from 0 up to its own material's rating, 5 atm iron and 10 steel, whatever the run it sits on is rated for. It starts at a gate of 1 atm when placed. With nothing piped to the output it vents to air at the ordinary leak rate instead.

It only flows downhill, from the higher side to the lower, so it is not a backflow preventer and an overflow wired back into a line already at or above its source moves nothing. Do not set one in-line between a boiler and its engine: a pressure valve is a network endpoint, so it would split the run in two and then feed the engine's half until both sides match, which is the pressure it was meant to stop. Hang it off a junction on the engine's own run instead, with the output side left to vent.
