Cast Iron Bits smelt twenty to the ingot, and they remelt in a Cupola alongside pigs and chunks at the tier's flat rate. They are what breaking a mold under a cooling pour drops, not what melting a finished cast part gives - melting a cast iron ingot or plate only ever recasts it into more ingots.
