Cast Iron Plate

A plate cast in a mold rather than beaten on an anvil. The building block of low-pressure machinery.

Cast Iron Plate is the tier's building block: one plate melts down into two ingots. No recipe in the mod reads or produces it: the only way in is a Sand Casting Cell pour, and the only way out is the remelt. Mistake: it never leaves the mold as anything but a flat plate - a shaped part comes from the Sand Casting Cell, not from working this plate further.
