Slag Tap

The upper tap-hole, high in the hearth wall. Runs off the slag floating on the metal into a canal below.

It sits higher in the hearth wall than the Iron Tap and drains only what floats: a tap considers a slice of the pool each tick and passes more of it here than at the iron notch, since slag is thinner. It comes plugged like the iron tap and opens and closes the same way.

A full slag pool stops the melt exactly as a full iron pool does, so flush both rather than only the one that is easier to see. See Furnaces and heat.
