This page reads the two things every other page shows: a recipe and a figure.

Reading a recipe

Every recipe on this wiki is drawn the same way.

any before a name means the recipe takes every variant of that family: any clay bricks is clay bricks of any colour. The name after it links to the family's page.
An ingredient that takes more than three variants reads the same way, any stone rather than a cell of names; the family's page lists them.
(Iron or Steel) after a name lists the variants the recipe takes, up to three.
(tool, not consumed) marks an ingredient the recipe uses and hands back; it is not spent, though it may wear.
x 2 after a name is how many of it the recipe takes, and 10L a measure of a liquid. A name with neither takes one.
A grid recipe is drawn as the crafting grid it is laid out in; a blank cell stays empty. The row under the grid is what comes out, with its own count.
A smithing, clayforming or knapping recipe reads as one line: what goes in, the surface it is worked on, then what comes out.
A barrel recipe names its ingredients and how long it stands sealed; an alloy recipe names each metal's share of the melt.
The line under a recipe adds it up: what the whole recipe takes, a grid ingredient counted once per cell that holds it, and what comes out.

Reading a figure

A structure's page opens with a drawing of the finished build and the plans of its courses.

The large drawing is the build seen from the south-east, with the front of the machine toward you. The scale down its left edge is one tick per course, so the height is counted off the picture.
Under it come the layer plans, one course at a time from the bottom up, north at the top of every one. A course drawn the same as the one below it is shown once and says which layers it stands for.
Each cell of a plan is drawn in the colour of its legend row, and the legend names the block that goes there. A cell the build leaves empty says so in words.
A red arrow leaving the drawing is a connector: a pipe or an axle joins the build there.
A block page's own figure is the block from the front, the right, the back, the left and above; the front is the side you stand at when you place it. A megablock also shows its footprint, the cells the one block claims around itself.

Recipe cost levels

A mod ships its recipes at more than one cost, and /exmod recipes <mod> <level> picks which of those levels is live. This wiki shows the level the mod ships as its default, so a world switched to another level takes other amounts than the pages print.
