Heat Sink

Stores reclaimed exhaust heat.

A Heat Sink is where a cowper stove's charge is actually stored. Four of them stack in the middle column of the stove and move together: charging on exhaust raises all four at once toward the 1240 C cap, and blowing air draws them back down. Looking at one is how the stove's charge is read, since the stove itself carries no separate readout.

A stove built without the stack of four is just a chimney: nothing regenerates and the air comes through cold.

Its own recipe needs a straight cast pipe, which Iron Industry Expanded has no recipe for, so it cannot be crafted in survival.
