Heating Hearth

Three rows of stock lying in the flame. A vanilla forge tops out at an ingot; a shingled bar or a slab needs this.

Three rows lie in the flame, and the centre row blocks both flanks going in and coming out, so a full hearth is loaded flanks first and unloaded centre first. Right-click a row with a piece of stock to lay it there, and right-click empty-handed to take it back.

Only Shingled Bar, Shingled Slab and the three cast stock shapes have hearth art and are accepted; a rolled piece has to be cropped before it comes back here to reheat. See Rolling and the forming shop and Heating furnace.
