Cornish Engine

A high-pressure beam engine. Its throttle has three settings and drives one attached sub-machine.

A Cornish Engine is a single block raised in place through its own build stages, not a multiblock: right-click it with each stage's materials to add the cylinder, the beam, the pistons and the control gear in turn. Its throttle has three settings, each moving the engine's steam draw and power together:

Above 8 atm at the inlet it wears toward breaking at any setting, so a Lancashire Boiler run flat out is not a setting to leave it on. The control rods take a wrench: right-click the engine or the block above it with one to raise the setting, ctrl and right-click to lower it.

It drives one attached sub-machine off the power column above: an Air Blower for hot blast, or a transmission elsewhere in the mill. Getting started has the order to build and fire it in.
