Bell Hopper

Drips stockpiled burden down into the furnace shaft.

The bell is the drip feed under the tank: it holds 48 units of its own and drops 4 units a second into the furnace shaft it stands on, so the shaft never gets the whole charge at once. It takes burden or fuel, whichever the Reinforced Hopper above it is passing down, one grade at a time. A bell with no tank above it, or standing clear of a furnace, simply holds what it has: it pulls nothing and drops nothing, and neither block says why.
