Air Blower

Steam-engine sub-machine that pressurises air.

The Air Blower is the steam-driven route to blast pressure, bolted to a Cornish or a Watt engine as its sub-machine and taking its throttle setting rather than a control of its own. Its own left face, turned to face the way the engine sits, is the pipe connector itself: run a pipe up to that face rather than in front of it, which is the opposite of how the twin-tub blower wants its, since that one takes its pipe a cell beyond its own outlet. See Ironmaking for the flow each engine and throttle setting gives it and Bessemer process for why this is the only route to the pressure steel needs.
